What did Gandhi mean by this quote? How can a person be the change? It is really quite simple. By being the desired outcome an individual changes their "vibration" which then attracts that desired result.
What do I mean by this? Let me put it more simply. When we want love, happiness, or joy, that change in being comes through the decision. First I decide I want happiness and joy. Then I decide that I am happy and joyful. By meditating on this concept of joy, love, and happiness I change my state of being so I become this happy, loving, joyful being.
When we become what it is we want to see we create that in ourselves, which in turns attracts more of that into our life. You see, the law of attraction is very powerful. We are each like a magnet. We attract into our life that which we are "being." So if we are worrying about life, that is just what we get, more worry. However, if we are happy with our life and more importantly, grateful, that is what we will attract: more happiness, more gratitude!
This is a very powerful concept that I invite you to practice on a daily basis. When we change our "being" we change our vibration. This causes us to vibrate at a higher level and attract more good things into our life. Instead of focusing on the negative, focus on the positive; instead of focusing on the wanting, focus on having/being it already. You too will realize this wonderful state of "being."
